A musician and a visual artist bring a question, a method, or an experiment that they share with the participants. Everyone is welcome, no registration required.

Our fifth open practice will be led by Ultan O'Brien, who'll join Sam Comerford's Thunderblender during their concert on 14 May.

Ultan is a fiddle/viola player & composer based in County Clare. Ultan has a background in traditional Irish music and improvised music and has played and recorded with acts such as Martin Green (Lau), Laura Jurd, Slow Moving Clouds, Skipper’s Alley, Neil Ó Lochlainn’s Cuar, and John Francis Flynn.

On 14 May he will join Sam Comerford's Thunderblender for a concert at Walter. The concert is part of Sam's residency and connected to his connects to his research project 'Radical Variations, Primitive Forms: The Melodic Language of Tommie Potts in Improvised Music'.
