Since 2022, Art Anderlecht (11–13 September) has been inviting the public to discover the municipality of Anderlecht in a new way, through artists’ studios, independent venues and artistic initiatives. On foot or by bike, follow a route through a creative ecosystem of places, encounters and collaborations.
Walter is joining the event and opening its doors on Saturday 12 September.

How can improvised music inspire visual art, and vice versa? Dear pigs, and Renée Pevernagie draw inspiration together from solo sets by various improvisers. What they create, with the help of interested participants and passers-by, in turn becomes the source material for guitarist Benjamin Sauzereau, who, together with a group of musicians, explores ways of translating the visual art back into music.
Dear pigs, is a Brussels-based artistic collective that found its home at Werkplaats Walter and organises participatory interventions in public space. Some of these take place in collaboration with Werkplaats Walter. Renée Pevernagie’s drawings normally emerge layer by layer: pigment, pastel and charcoal are applied, fixed, and then scraped away. Renée is one of the artists with a studio at Walter.

An evening featuring two sets. In the first, the collective led by Benjamin Sauzereau explores the interplay between graphic scores and improvised music, revealing what this dialogue has produced and what it sounds like. The second set is open to everyone! Join in the spontaneous creation of the moment — and feel free to bring your instrument!
