Art Anderlecht (11–13 September) is a journey through artists’ studios, encounters and independent artistic spaces. The event invites you to experience the territory of Brussels’ largest municipality from a different perspective. Now in its fifth edition, Art Anderlecht is joined by Walter this year, on Saturday 12 September.
Discover the work and practice of the ‘Walter artists’ Aurike Quintelier, Francesco Del Conte, Maria Ferreira Silva, Renée Pevernagie, Sarah Duby, Tim Bruggeman/INFINITIF and Wannes Lecompte. Move from painting to graphic design, architecture, performance, photography and beyond.
Come and draw, and let your imagination run wild! Dear pigs is building a huge drawing canvas. A few days beforehand, Walter artist Renée Pevernagie will prepare the canvas together with a group of kids from Kuregem, from IBO KIK. And you? You scratch, scrape and draw until the collective result emerges. All materials are provided, and there’s no age limit for drawing. Everyone is welcome to join in!
Meanwhile, you’ll be surrounded by the most diverse music.

Dear pigs is a Brussels-based artistic collective that has found a home at Werkplaats Walter and organises participatory interventions in public space. Some of these take place in collaboration with Werkplaats Walter. Renée is one of the artists with a studio at Walter.
Shervin Kianersi Haghighi takes over out kitchen for several hours, preparing tacos for visitors.
The performance explores cooking as a collective act. Cutting, cooking, waiting, smelling, serving and eating become part of the work, unfolding through the presence of the people who enter the kitchen.
Come by, stay for a while, and eat with us.
In the afternoon, come and draw. In the evening, come and make music.
Improvisation means playing in the moment. And anyone can do it. Come and listen to a group of musicians turning the drawings from the afternoon into music (first set). Then join in yourself during the second set, which is open to everyone. Don’t forget to bring your instrument!
