Interlinie is an adventurous, nomadic festival in which Amsterdam-based organisation Space is the Place travels between venues in Belgium and the Netherlands. The festival aims to foster exchange between the two countries, while also inviting international artists, and is a collaboration with Sound in Motion, Paviljoen Ongehoorde Muziek, Bimhuis, Rataplan and Werkplaats Walter.
In 2026, Interlinie #3 welcomes, among others, experimental composer, instrument builder and percussionist Bex Burch. She is working on her composition As Yet Untitled in collaboration with others. Joining her are South African trumpeter James McClure, violinist Esther Coorevits and accordionist Stan Maris, all familiar faces at Walter. Together, they shape the work through their own musical practices, creating new encounters that extend beyond a single moment or place.
As Yet Untitled explores the boundary between structure and improvisation, repetition and disruption. It unfolds through a dialogue between sounds from nature, instruments and even voices from the audience. In this way, Burch pushes the boundaries of her music by embracing unpredictability and collaboration, resulting in rich and unexpected colours and textures. But above all, this music brings people together, turning the performance into a shared experience.
